Some of the messages left by tenants in The Old Stables Visitors' Book
We've had a wonderful time. The cottage and gardens are beautiful, and the local area and its surroundings are lovely. We shall be recommending this to our friends and family. Thank you. (July 2003)
The cottage and its garden have given us all the home comforts and more. A great location for exploring the local countryside and an ideal place for visiting interesting places like Dorchester and Shaftesbury. (August 2003)
We sought a haven of peace and tranquillity midst the mayhem of everyday working life. We found EXACTLY what we were looking for - here! Thank you for providing such a place. The garden as everyone says is delightful but the cottage is just perfect. Spacious and clean! Not forgetting the wealth of reading material. We needn't have set foot off the property all week. Sheer bliss! (July 2004)
Received by e-mail: The Old Stables are the best self-catering accommodation we've ever had the good fortune to book! Great decor - immaculately clean - fabulous garden and patio - everything you could possibly need in the kitchen (including a very considerate pint of milk, tea, coffee, biscuits etc.) I'm sorry I didn't manage to put all this in the visitors' book. We are so taken with The Old Stables (and Child Okeford) that we have to ask if you will accept a booking for next year. (July 2005)

We've had a wonderful time and the cottage and gardens were more than we expected. It's a real home from home. (July 2005)

A lovely cottage in a peaceful well served village community, with many walks straight from the cottage. This has got to be the best equipped and well presented holiday accommodation we have stayed in, and suitable for all ages. (August 2007)
As two couples we were already at two other cottages in South UK. Booked from the Netherlands, we enjoyed this quiet "stable" most! Full equipped and with a fine terrace and garden! (August 2008)
After many visits to Dorset, and staying in numerous cottages, The Old Stables has to be the best. The level of equipment supplied and cleanliness is first class. Hope to be back next year. (August 2008)

And even a poem...........!

What a lovely little cottage
In a place where we can chill
And when our son-in-law came visiting
He climbed up Hambledon Hill.

His wife and our dear grandchildren
Also came that day
They all had such a lovely time
And wished that they could stay.

It truly is a special place
And the garden is superb
And when we're sitting on the patio
No sound of anything can be heard.

So thank you for a lovely week
We've not a single moan
We've been out and about - done lots of things
And to this cottage we've come home. (August 2004)
